Teaching

I work seasonally at the West Hartford Art League, assisting with art workshops for children ages 5–10. I guide students through projects in painting, drawing, printmaking, and sculpture while encouraging them to get creative and express their personalities. Young children haven't developed the vocabulary to express their emotions, which is why I find that engaging in various art projects gives them a space to discover themselves. We talk about how everyone thinks and works differently from one another and how our differences make us special. Their curiosity and openness often made me think differently about my own work and creative process.
